Handwritten Recipe Platter
Create a custom serving platter using a handwritten recipe or other source material.
We can work from handwritten recipe cards or personal letters, typewritten recipes, cookbook pages, newspaper clippings, photographs, and other antique materials to create a personalized platter for serving or display.
From the source material that you provide, we carefully isolate and restore the original handwriting and other content. This allows the finished design to retain the characteristics of the original material, while producing a crisp result that looks as if it was written directly onto the platter.

Your source material may include:
• A handwritten recipe card
• A handwritten letter
• A piece of artwork
• A photograph
• A portrait
• A recipe written on notebook or loose paper
• A recipe written on the front and back of a card
• Multiple recipe pages that need to be combined
• An original typewritten recipe
• A recipe from an old cookbook
• A newspaper or magazine recipe clipping
• A typed recipe containing handwritten notes or changes
• Other source materials
If you are unsure whether your recipe or other source material is suitable, you may send it for review. You can also send us notes regarding your custom design if you have specific preferences. These notes will be added to your project folder for our Design Team to review and incorporate into your custom platter. We send a proof for each and every order to ensure that you are 100% satisfied with your final design before we begin production.
2. We Prepare the Original Artwork
For handwritten recipes or other source material, we carefully isolate the handwriting from the original paper and restore it as needed for reproduction. Depending on the condition of the source material, this may include removing or reducing:
Recipe-card lines
Paper backgrounds
Unwanted borders
Printed graphics
Stains or discoloration
Other distracting background elements
Our goal is to create clean artwork while retaining the recognizable characteristics of the original handwriting. If there are specific elements from the original card that you want to keep, please let us know when submitting your recipe. Once the artwork is prepared, we arrange it specifically for the platter using the design you have selected and notes regarding the composition. Because recipes vary greatly in length, handwriting size, orientation, and source material, each layout is adjusted individually. Text size, spacing, placement, photographs, and additional design elements may be modified to create a balanced composition. If your recipe is written on more than one page or on both sides of a recipe card, we can combine the separate images into a single design. We frequently use content from multiple source materials to create a final composition.
4. Review Your Digital Proof
A digital mockup of your platter will be provided for review before production via Etsy message and email. You can also provide us a telephone number if you would like us to send your proof via text message. The proof allows you to check the overall layout and make sure the recipe and any photographs or other requested elements are positioned appropriately and that you are pleased with the overall design. Production begins after the design has been approved.
5. Your Custom Platter Is Produced
After proof approval, your personalized platter is made to order using the finalized artwork and shipped to the address that you selected when you placed your order. Once your platter is shipped, you will be provided a tracking number via email by Etsy. You can also check the status of your order at any time on your orders or receipt page. Please contact us with any questions about shipping dates or delivery timelines.

My recipe is spread across several pieces of paper. Can you use all of them?
Yes. Multiple source images can be combined when creating the final layout. You may also provide us notes about your preferences for the final composition via Etsy message, email support@keepsakecharm.com, or text message (859)685-5191.
Can you remove the lines from my recipe card?

Let us know which elements you would like retained. We can often incorporate meaningful original graphics or details into the design.

Yes. We can use photographs of the recipe or other source material to create your custom platter. A proof will be sent of the design before we begin production to ensure that you are 100% satisfied with the final design.
— • IMAGE QUALITY RECOMMENDATIONS • —
For the best results, photograph or scan the recipe:
In bright, even lighting
As straight-on as possible
At the highest available resolution
With the entire recipe visible
Without fingers or objects covering the writing
Without strong glare or shadows
Older or damaged originals do not need to be perfect. If you are uncertain about your image, send it for review before or after ordering.
— • DESIGN AND COLOR INFORMATION • —
Each platter is designed according to the source material provided, so text placement and sizing will vary from one order to another. Screen and monitor settings can cause colors to appear slightly different from the finished product.
Wood grain, glitter, metallic effects, and other textures shown within a design are printed faux finishes.
These effects are not actual wood, glitter, metal, or dimensional materials.
Minor production variations may occur as part of the custom printing process.
— • MADE IN THE USA • —
The platter, materials, design work, and production are Made in the USA. Each piece is individually designed from the source material you provide and produced after your final proof has been approved.
